I recalled Wayne Dyer speak on the importance of letting go to what we hold inside at one of his tours. It illustrates what we all need to be reminded of, especially during these times. Hope you enjoy it.
I opened a conversation with a bright young fellow of about twelve who was sitting in the front row.
“If I were to squeeze this orange as hard as I could, what would come out?” I asked him.
He looked at me like I was a little crazy and said, “Juice, of course.”
“Do you think apple juice could come out of it?”
“No!” he laughed.
“What about grapefruit juice?”
“No!”
“What would come out of it?”
“Orange juice, of course. It’s an orange and that’s what’s inside.”
I nodded. “Let’s assume that this orange isn’t an orange, but it’s you. And someone squeezes you, puts pressure on you, says something you don’t like, offends you. And out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, fear. The answer, as our young friend has told us, is because that’s what’s inside.”
It’s one of the great lessons of life. What comes out when life squeezes you? It doesn’t matter who does the squeezing—your mother, your brother, your children, your boss, the government. If someone says something about you that you don’t like, what comes out of you is what’s inside. And what’s inside is your choice.
Once you take away all those negative things you don’t want in your life and replace them with love, you’ll find yourself living a highly functioning life.
Very cool story. I definately gives me something to think about. Thank yoi.
Wonderful way to look at things – Will be sharing….thanks!

I heard that story before by WD. A very profound message. You know what’s goes on inside of you when someone squeeze your orange. What about when you squeeze someone else orange you start observing the chain reaction of negative thoughts. Impressive what emotions can do. Thank you again for the story a great reminder to self. xxx 😉
Great message and nice post! Whatever comes is your choice!
Such a positive message. Thank you. Also, I think sometimes we hide behind the thick layer of an orange. If we change who we are at the core, we can peel back that layer. 🙂
Exactly. 🙂 Thanks for leaving a comment Ipuna.

This is why I read God’s word morning and night. I want to be field with his words not mine.

Nice analogy. And a scrumptious looking orange too.
Haha… is it time for a snack?
Brilliant in its simplicity. I got to see Wayne Dyer when I was in my 20’s…he had an impact, still does. Thanks.
He was an inspirational and simple man.

Thank you! You placed a smile on my face.
Very beautifully depicted the reality of life in case of orange it’s a orange juice and in case of we humans its the love of course as being offensive is never be a choice that we should opt. Shower love in the waterfall of God’s blessings 👍✌♥♥♥
Love is all there is. So good to reconnect with you.
That’s my pleasure
