What is YOUR definition of Our Creator?

Tell me…if you believe there is a creator, have you ever thought how this creator would look like? Humanity has worked very hard to manifest its beliefs and assumptions around its perceptions of what is God/Creator/Source. Well, a few weeks ago, I came across one of Oprah’s clips from her special “Soul-to-Soul” episode. She asked a few thought leaders how they define God. This is what they said.

Wayne Dyer: God is the highest place within each and every one of us. It’s our divine self.

Michael Singer: The source of you.

DeVon Franklin: My definition of God: God is not only the alpha, the omega, he is friend, he’s a confidant, he is a buddy. He is a lover of my soul. That’s my definition of God.

Debbie Ford: I define God as an energy. A spiritual energy. It has no denomination, it has no judgment, it has an energy that when we’re connected to it we know why we’re here and what we’re here to do.

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee: He is my beloved. He is my most intimate beloved, my friend, the one I look to in everything. I wouldn’t try to define him because no one knows God but God. He’s beyond even our idea of the beyond.

Mastin Kipp: God is love.

Gary Zukav: I don’t have a definition of God, because I’ve never really understood that word. People have different understandings of it and it’s caused a great deal of conflict. If I had to say what would my definition of God be, if I were going to use that word, I would say that this universe has layers upon layers upon layers of compassion and wisdom beyond ours.

Deepak Chopra: God is the evolutionary impulse of the universe. God is infinite creativity, infinite love, infinite compassion, infinite caring.

  1. “A Point in A Space and A Time”

My definitions have evolved, but it can’t wrap around A Point I can’t comprehend.

  2. What comes to mind when I think about God is creation. The universe; everything. When I look in the mirror I see a creation looking back at me.

  3. I absolutely love this post and discussion! To me, God is consciousness, energy, the universe, life, love… God can be found in all of life’s creations. God is no where but everywhere, God is nothing and everything. Thank you for sharing this <3

  4. Wow, I wrote a post answering this very question! For my answer see my post “God is a Verb”… it’s linked in my menu bar. How delightful of you to ask. 😊

  5. Omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. Alpha Omega, beginning and end. The grand designer of all that is. He is the Word (The Bible) and he always was before anything. We are created in his image and we are flawed because we chose, we had (Have) freewill. His plans , his truths are obvious and beyond us completely. He is all loving and sacrificed himself for us bc we cannot be perfect; he, in his son, paid the price. He is our comfort our strength, our source of faith. He knows us better than we can know each other. He is eternity and rest, peace and perfection. Beyond time.

    Great post quite fascinating.

  6. I tend to believe that we are all creators, creators of our own world views. Those views are connected with all beings so we are part of this whole web of creation where each energy affects all energies. In that sense god is in all of us and is all of us. Great post, I enjoyed the responses.

  7. God is, the Lord Jesus Christ, the ONLY God…who created heaven & earth. He’s the Savior, He’s a Deliverer, He’s also a Father & a Friend, who longs to have a relationship with every human He created. He will reside & make himself known to whomever will believe & receive Him.
God is LOVE! <3 Great Post 🙂

  8. God is Who I wake up and thank every day. God is inside of me. God is Who I question, listen to, laugh with, cry with, heal with, love with, create with, learn how to help and love others with. God is Who I praise daily for everything. God is Who I yell at sometimes and then apologize to, He understands. God is my Creator, my Father, my Guide, my Caregiver, my Compassion, my Heart, my Soul, my Dreams, my Ideas, my Thoughts, my Source, my Sounding-board, my Confidante. God is my Everything…God is Everything!! Superb post!! 🙂

  9. A thought-provoking write. I like that the word says God is “I AM”. Therefore, whatever we need Him to be he is the I AM, if it is according to his will for our life.

  10. I think of God as the energy that animates everything, and connects everything. When we’re in sync with it we flow effortlessly, and when we resist it we struggle.

  11. The evolutionary impulse of the Universe. -Deepak Chopra
Divine love, Divine Energy, Divine Mind, True Self,Divine Order/Law..that is God!

I believe in trying to define God, humans tend to shrink the DIVINE into a relateable box as a point of reference or association that’s familiar or used to being understood and when things happen that are not in alignment with what humans have understood by paradigm to be God, then it is harshly judged, criticized and devalued! Instead of embracing labels, I think there should be a releasing of labels and allow this Infinite Source to show up as it may…then look for it😀

  12. I love Super Soul Sunday! I know there is a God- a source of all that is good, pure and right, full of love on a level unimaginable and present for all. I am satisfied just knowing that. People with near death experience say it is Light-that they see. All I really know is all will be well for every one of us.

  13. God is Almighty, Powerful, Faithful Father to me, omnipresent, omnipotent, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He is my King.

  14. I’m still trying to figure it out. 🙂 I will say that some days I feel closer than others to our source through my thoughts, actions and the alignment of the two. These would be the days that I’m putting forth the best version of myself and practicing values such as compassion, acceptance and love.

  15. God is an omnipotent spirit, existed forever and causes all things, creator, alpha and omega, fills heaven and earth, perfect in power, is the truth, the light and the way. God is Lord, is 3 in 1: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is our great Counselor, Healer, Mediator, Provider, Prince of Peace, Redeemer, Savior of the World. God is Love!

  16. What a wonderful and devoted post you have written here, dear 🙂 My definition of God is that He is a best friend, one whom you don’t need to have any inhibitions when talking to. He understands us and patiently lends an ear anywhere, any time. As we surrender to Him and ask for His presence with us alone, He’ll make it a first priority to keep us safe, blessed and healthy, which is all you ever need 🙂 <3

  17. Interesting . I have no specific image of a God figure. I’m more scientific in my thoughts of what the creator or God is – I use the God is energy theory when I talk. It makes sense to me and it makes the idea of spirituality more tangible.
