For some time now, I wake up not knowing what day of the week it is. I pretty much have to look at my cell phone to get reoriented. It’s a weird feeling. It feels as if I’m in some sort of time warp.
Such has been this year, as minutes, hours and days are blending into no time, into Now. Is this what it means to Be? There’s been weeks where I don’t recall what I did the other day because the days seemed a blur. I’ve heard it said that “the older you get, the faster time goes by.”
I’m still letting go of years of programming while working within limitations and schedules. Actually, outside of “work” I never did abide much with “time”; instead, I chose to do what “felt” right at the moment.
Are you going through something similar, forgetting the day/date?Is time going faster for you too?

😃 That happens to me a lot.
Whenever I forget what day it is, I pull out my smartphone and look at it.
Good for you, Bernice. To me, when I’m in the now, I’m so aware of the loving.
For me, I’ve been doing my best to surrender to God’s time. 🙂 That’s a good practice for me to relax and be patient.
Have a wonderful rest of your week. Hope all is great in your new home.
It’s pointing to the fact that there may be a need for a rest.
Yes. I agree.
Thanks for that. Not everyone would do.
Yes.. happens to be a lot these days. Because I am out of my regular routine or schedule ever since the birth of my baby. Undoing the same schedule u had for years together in just a few days is not easy. I mess up with the days of the week and even dates. Thankfully i get the month right. 😉
I relate to this. Getting a hand on something that doesn’t exist outside this reality has been a challenge, so time and I have have been loose acquaintances rather than friends. I rarely know what day or what time it is. I don’t stress about it.
I can relate to what you are saying. I went through a very long phase like you are describing …as if I was living in a completely different realm and couldn’t explain or relate to anyone. I think I consciously trained myself to operate in the clocked time realm as much required for general functioning but apart from that I flow from moment to moment. The month, day and time don’t feel relevant to me.
Can’t say that happens to me much, but when it does, it’s awesome. It’s perhaps a glimpse into the next life – where time us no longer a driving force.
It happens to me when I’m not at school. Schools strictly follow time. But there’s no time when I work 35+ hours a week at Target in the summer.
It happens to me, but particularly when things change dramatically, I have noticed. I have never done well with keeping track of time. And yes, time does seem to speed by, especially as I am older. Go well my dear.
Yes! Time seems to be picking up speed. I’ll look back to something and realize, that happened FIVE years ago, or SEVEN or TEN!!! It’s almost August and yet we JUST celebrated the New Year. It’s crazy.
Yes, for example I won’t be able to recall off the top of my head what I did over the weekend and when I think really hard it’s something so simple as going to the supermarket. Even during the weekday, I can’t recall what happened earlier in the week. I’m only able to recall the here and now. I don’t know if it has to do with age or a mundane life, or maybe I’m breaking through this indoctrination.
Absolutely time is going faster – or appearing to go by faster. Regarding the old adage of ‘the older you get’, try asking young people. They report the same thing. I’m not religious as such but the words of Matthew 24v22 sum up my feelings ‘”If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive’ referring to the end of this age, which is where we are now (end of the age, not the end of the world!!!!), I can’t pretend to fully understand the exact meaning of ‘time’ but what is more poignant is our ‘perception’ of it and, yes, we are perceiving it generally as being very fast and therefore short. Try not doing anything for a day – it still goes fast. The best we can do is live ‘in the moment’ and not wish time away. Interesting subject. You are very much NOT alone.
Time flies when I’m meditating or doing something creative.
