I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.
The nurse started with certain basics.
“How much do you weigh?” she asked.
“135, ” I answered.
The nurse put me on the scale.
It turns out my weight is 180.
The nurse asked “Your height?”
“5 foot 5” I said.
The nurse checked and saw I only measure 5 foot 2. She then took my blood pressure and told me it was very high.
“Of course it’s high”, I screamed. “When I came in here I was tall and slender!” “Look at me now!”
She put me on prozac.
What a bitch!
Is there anything better than being part of a contagious giggle that turns uncontrollable? I’ve been there plenty of times, especially if I’m with any one of my sisters and we’re watching an off-broadway play that’s serious and dramatic; she’ll whisper something silly in my ear and the giggling begins.
It’s infectious. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. It’s also a natural life prolonging elixir; particularly a good and hearty laugh.
Have you ever had one of those embarrassing moments where all you can do is laugh at yourself? I just recently tripped over my feet, looked around (what the heck made me trip), and laughed.
“If you can laugh at yourself, you can forgive yourself,” Susan Sparks, author of “Laugh Your Way To Grace,” writes. “And if you can forgive yourself, you can forgive others.”
Humor takes you to a higher place where you can view the world from a more relaxed, positive, creative, joyful, and balanced perspective.
Life is supposed to be joyful and fun. Everyone messes up, trips up or says something they shouldn’t say, it’s ok. Don’t be to hard on yourself. Have a yourself a laugh and move on.
Oh my! Been there and done that! Laugjing at yourself is amazing therapy in an embarrassing situation. Laughing until you cry is the best!😂
Nice write up … I haven’t had a belly laugh all week. I guess I should try one before going to bed.
Is it evening where you are now?
Mangalore in South India. It is 9:30 p.m. here
Wow! We’ll have a good evening. It’s 11am in the northeast in America. Glad you passed by.
It is nice to meet you. 🙂 I plan to make another post and hit the sack.
Laughter is the great healer, isn’t it? I wish the image (or was it a video) would have loaded for me. I’m sure I’d have had another giggle with it. I think I’m going to enjoy reading you. Following!
haha. laughter is the best medicine “,)
Reading that made me laugh and then smile like an idiot. That’s about as real as a smile can get right? 🙂
That’s true. 😄
Oh, what a fun post. I love laughing. Once I sat after dinner with my daughter, husband and sister-in-law and we just laughed. At nothing. And it was contagious. There is a whole laugh therapy movement out there based on group laughing. It’s good for the heart. It’s good for the soul. Thanks for getting us all started today! Laugh on….
This a fantastic piece. Thank you for the morning giggle and great lesson.
Couldn’t resist posting the joke. 😉
I love the intro 🙂
Humor as the topic for motivation is creative, in my opinion.
I usually find things that encourage me to kick, punch, or bite 🙂
Definitively, we need more laughter!!
Great post!
Thanks for the encouragement on a Monday morning!
Laughing is so much easier than planks. 😄
So true! But don´t say that at my blog Lol
