Live A Great Life

“One day, your heart will stop beating, and none of your fears will matter. What will matter is how you lived.” Henri Junttila

To live a great life we have to be willing to overcome our fears. Do you recall the last time you wanted to do something so strongly but fear got in the way? Perhaps you can’t say NO to someone that easily; maybe out of guilt, be it a belief of unworthiness or holding on only because it feels safe.

Believe it or not, fear is an illusion. Fear’s intention is to protect itself. What you created in fear must be pulled to pieces and the way you begin is on a conscious level.

Wayne W. Dyer wrote in The Power of Intention that “if we focus on what’s ugly, we attract more ugliness into our thoughts, and then into our emotions and ultimately into our lives.”

It’s time to change the way we think and speak about our dreams/goals/intentions. A working definition of intention is “to have in mind a purpose or plan, to direct the mind, to aim.”

We may stray without meaning or direction if we lack intention. However, with it, all the forces of the universe can align to make even the impossible, possible.

Below are three techniques that will help you in your daily life:

Write it down: Make a list or keep a journal. It’s a great place to work through your struggles and deal with it head-on. It will bring clarity and will increase your self-awareness and understand why you’re feeling this way. Then get clear about something you want and write it down!

Have Faith: There’s going to be days you may feel crappy and that’s ok. When you know you’re in a good place, start believing you are worthy! Believe you can achieve what you want out of life. It may not happen on your schedule but life has an interesting way of working things out in its own “time”. So be patient.

Let Go: This may be the hardest one of all. At times, we hold on to something because we feel it empowers us; however, holding on only weakens us. What I have learned through my journey is “accept what may or may not develop. Focus on the present moment and less on the fear itself”.

Change is never easy when you’re invested in your old behavior. Create a vision board to focus on becoming who you want to become, not on the challenges that lie in the way. It will be a bumpy ride, but with a strong belief and lots of hard work, you will get there. Be willing to be your best and enjoy your journey to living a great life. You’re worthy of it!

  1. Hi Bernice,

I just reread this blog post (must have needed to see it again). Thank you for the wisdom and the tips. Letting go may be the tough one for me … until now. Just surrendering and trusting myself and Spirit to support me. I’m really getting there – especially in this relationship I’m in now! He’s a mirror for me in so many ways, and I’m allowing myself to be vulnerable.

John-Roger, my spiritual teacher, says intention is the direction we want to travel. I really love that. Also, your post reminds me of Victor Frankl’s book about how the one thing that we have control over is our attitude. <3 I choose to see the good, best I can.

Much love, Bernice. Have a great weekend,

      1. Thanks so much Bernice! I just ordered business cards for my coaching practice, and I used that photo. Your comment comes at perfect timing 🙂 BTW I got your email and will respond tomorrow with more detail. Looks great! Much blessings, Debbie

  2. This is gorgeous, thank you! My spiritual teacher J-R wrote a book “You Can’t Afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought.” So important to have fun with it all too, right? Doing my best to do that more (I’m smiling now, in fact!) Thanks for the reminder and many blessings to you for a wonderful holiday — Debbie

  3. I agree with writing things down I do that a lot ! It helps me a great deal and it makes me feel better ! I try to be more positive and do things that I’ve always wanted to do ! Like starting writing my blog ! 😊

  4. What a great post and a wonderful quote by Junttila which is so true. I was just talking to someone today about how fears hold us back from stepping out of our comfort zone. Takes courage and a big leap of faith to overcome this. Thanks for the inspiration.
