As our environment changes, so does the need to become increasingly aware of the problems that surround it. As I look around, there’s pollution, crime, poverty, genetically modified foods, public health issues, children who can’t read and the list can go on and on.
It doesn’t matter if you’re Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish or an Atheist. I don’t care what the color of your skin is. We’re all thinking, breathing, opinionated humans who share the same planet and if we can’t respect each other for this, we can’t expect to do anything but run this planet into the ground.
If we open our hearts and care enough about each other and our planet to take a stand for the environment the work will be easier because we’ll do it together.
Making a difference may cause anxiety to a bunch of people but I’m here to say we can do so in a small way. By helping someone feel special, loved, and important, you are changing the world for that person.
Here’s how:
Volunteer
Volunteer one hour at a local school, church or charitable organization. They’re always looking for someone. I volunteer at Meals on Wheels assisting with meal preparation in the commissary. Knowing the packaged meals are being delivered to seniors and people with disabilities in my community is rewarding.
Give. Stuff. Away
As much as you may want to keep everything, other people may be in need of the items you’re holding onto. There are plenty of organizations who are looking for donations such as clothing, furniture, canned foods, etc. Some even offer pick-up services.
Smile
A genuine smile can elevate your mood and the mood of those around you. It’s also contagious. Have you ever smiled at someone who wasn’t expecting it and they smiled back?
Action speaks loud
Therefore, act in a positive manner, no matter what.
Love unconditionally
It does not matter how you show it or who you show it to, but show it. There may be times when someone needs a hug or someone to talk to, etc. You’ll make there day.
Let’s help make our world a kinder and safer place for our future generation. Now is a good time – don’t you agree?
Perhaps you may know of another way to help out locally. Please share your ideas with us!

I liked reading this post ! Quite interesting thought on wishing that the world turns out to be a nicer place, thought that is not what is actually happening in the world 🙂

Thanks for sharing this, I am hopeful that the good humanity has to offer will outshine the bad. It starts with me. It starts with you. And it will happen when we choose to be the good in the world.
I’m with you on that Darlene.
I may have to reblog this post. I wrote it when I first started blogging.
