My Trip to Peru

Hello Journeyer’s!

I missed you all. I hope you had a fun August, and discovered some new things about yourself.

My trip to Peru was fab! I couldn’t believe I was visiting a place that only five thousand years ago the mysterious inhabitants of Peru built the most advanced civilization known in the Western hemisphere until modern times; such as these massive pyramids, complex observatories, ruins of opulent Incan palaces/fortresses, churches, etc.

Each town has its distinct charm; with its exquisite architecture and their traditional clothing and crafts. This country is rich in history and its ruins provide a glimpse back in time. Our trip included stops in Lima, Saqsayhuanman, Q’engo, Tambomahay, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, Cusco and finally Macchu Picchu; one of the most significant archeological sites left by the Incas.

We visited the usual touristy places but we also got to experience the best of each location savoring the local dishes such as corn, quinoa, fish and ceviche. I wasn’t able to eat their exotic food they call “cuy” (guinea pig). Sorry about that.

The locals treated us sooo nice and we met folks from all around the world. It was a magical and beautiful experience standing on the top of Machu Picchu.  It felt amazing!

Here are a few photos I took along the way.
