Experiencing Contrast

You chose the opportunity to experience contrast in time and space on our dear planet Earth. Duality is necessary for our physical existence. It is a place to experience levels of contrast to engender pain and suffering, maybe not directly to self but by experiencing it through others.

There are lessons gained through the experience of duality.

What is the purpose of a light shining if there is no darkness to illuminate and define its brilliance? The Light requires darkness to define itself and to become obvious to those who have developed the needed sensitivity to comprehend, see and “feel” it within themselves.

You could not begin to decide what is wanted if you did not have the contrast of what it is you do not desire. What, where, when, and with whom you create are your choices. By experiencing the difference, you will be able to make clearer decisions.

As John Steinbeck poignantly wrote in Travels with Charley: In Search of America, “What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?”

  1. I love this blog post 🙂 You naturally experience what you don’t want in order to get clarity on what you do want.
However, don’t give what you don’t want too much attention, energy, and focus. Experience the negative contrast briefly. I like the analogy of light and darkness, it illustrates clearly what you are saying.

  2. Beautifully written, and expressed. Light can not show its beauty without dark..

Love the whole post…but this paragraph so true..”..You could not begin to decide what is wanted if you did not have the contrast of what it is you do not desire. ….”

    Great thought for the day.
