Circle of Friends

Railie from Soul Gifts invites us to join her Circle of Friends weekly challenge for the month of May. When I saw this weeks topic I knew I had to write about my recent get together.

A few of my girlfriends and I got together earlier this week. I’ve known these women for 13 years. We all worked together at one point or another in the marketing department of a national company. Imagine a marketing dept of 20 employees and the majority of them women – we worked well together, or maybe it’s because our cycle was aligned 🙂  Although none of us work at the company anymore, our friendship remained.

It is by chance we met, by choice we became friends ~ Henri Nouwen

It was great getting together for lunch to talk about what’s going on in our lives, eating homemade pizza, salad and drinking wine out on the deck.

Throughout the years, someone went through a divorce; someone got remarried; someone became a grandmother; someone adopted a baby; someone became an empty nester; someone survived breast cancer.  We’ve never been on the same page of life, but that’s the beauty of it.

Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer ~ Henri Nouwen

the priceless gift we can give to each other is our friendship

We used to see each other 5x wk now we get together 1-2x a year. Maybe next year we don’t see each other at all and what remains are the memories we’ve shared.

For now, we agreed we’re going to meet again in August at Kim’s house; and that’s good enough for me.

If you’re wondering where I am, I’m on the far left.

  1. Nice of allowing us to see into your personal circle of friends. Thanks for sharing. True friendship is a gift, a circle of friends is an awesome gift.

  2. Ha! I picked you out in the picture just from the spirit that comes off your posts and comments. Maybe that’s not such a big deal, but it was for me as I was trying to see if I could use this part of my consciousness.
The best to you and your friends!

  3. What a beautiful, heart warming story. I love it how you continue to keep in touch through all of life’s ups and downs. That’s what friends are for 🙂 Thank you for joining in with Circle of Friends this week!
