I am always intrigued by the fact that the hurdles we encounter in life are the very themes that shape and inspire us to grow and transform. These challenges we face usually represent “themes” we choose to explore. And more importantly, it’s a journey of self-discovery that pushes us to be better versions of ourselves.
It’s always about transformation.
Transforming darkness into light
Limitations into freedom
Negative into positive
Those are usually the general themes, and then they take on specificity when you look at them through your unique personality (your stories and beliefs); in the way, you need to explore those themes and explorations.
What’s one theme you believe you have chosen to explore in this lifetime?
Great blog post Bernice! I like how you say, ‘a journey of self-discovery’. Themes, problems, and life situations arise to force us to evolve and grow as people. Transformation from darkness into light.π―οΈ
Limitations into freedom is relatable to me as a person with c-ptsd. ππ©Άπ
Life is indeed a journey of self discovery. If there was one theme for me Iβd say it was Limitation to freedom.
The theme of rejection. To ‘feel’ that pain and fear of being unloved and through it finally dare to understand it. And in that journey truly understand what love is because of that.
All our fears are based on that one thing, a fear of rejection, even though it can be done in many, many different ways. It’s like that little child bawling their eyes out because someone says to them…I don’t love you. It terrorizes, it is the core of what everything means in that happiness inside us, it is the one thing we ever look for, that love and happiness in our lives and all that we do either adds or decreases that feeling.
So instead of avoiding that fear I went looking and dared it to strike me down…and it did…often…but each time I understood it a little more until one day I saw its truth, and in that one instant I dis-empowered it, and was free. But…in its discovery was another truth…that fear taught me how to find it, and understand that the conditional love I had ever bound myself in, was in fact what would teach me to dis-empower it and finally understand what unconditional love was.
It’s like needing to experience sadness so that we will appreciate happiness so much more. One needs the other so we can measure that love and truly appreciate our journey is indeed built on that love, all of it.
Great post again Bernice, thank you for sharing your love and daring us to look at ours πβ€οΈπ
It’s freeing when we acknowledge what we have been avoiding to clearly see for so many years and heal from it. It’s an empowering feeling. Thank you for opening your heart and sharing your journey.β£οΈβ€οΈβπ₯
