Be Grateful

grateful

With all the chaos that’s going on around us perhaps you’re not feeling warm and fuzzy. Maybe you don’t feel you have anything to be grateful for.

Still not feeling it? Rather than giving thanks, how about focusing on receiving? Notice when other people are offering you an expression of sympathy or kindness, and take a moment to sit with it and bask in the feeling.  It will take some time but it will take an effect on you.

Expressing gratitude is a rewarding habit that affirms the grace of the giver. Gratitude opens our hearts, encourages us to savor each gift that comes our way, and magically frees us from jealously guarding our possessions.

Let’s celebrate today rather than wait for the next level of accomplishment or wealth. It’s a reminder that we can always find a reason to be grateful for something in our life.

Still need a reason to be grateful? You better check your pulse!

To those living in the U.S. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  1. Great post! Would love some feedback on my first 2 content pieces ‘a change for the better’ and ‘look at me now’ 😊https://malisehoney.wordpress.com/2017/05/04/look-at-me-now/

  2. Lovely words! So many people these days focus on what they don’t have rather than being grateful of all these amazing things we have! It’s important each day to take a moment to count your blessing and thank the universe for all the amazing things we have for something as simple as a nice bed to sleep in 🙂

  3. Everyday in life is precious and we should live with all the thankfulness! The only thing to be grateful is that we are living!

  4. Exactly! I was saying this just yesterday; that it makes me insane when people are constantly…content but not happy. When you ask why, they say ‘there’s no reason to be happy’ (like something specific has to happen) and I’m like- well, you woke up this morning, didn’t you?! Theres no reason to be Unhappy!

  5. I have this ‘thing’ about Intolerance. I am very intolerant about intolerant people and their ways. Thus I am very grateful for this soft steady voice from God whispering ‘Stop with those evil thoughts. You can’t wipe evil with evil’ which holds me in check from indulging in spreading hate through social media.

  6. That is a good one! Thankful for each and every day of life, health, love and all the little blessings that come along with it. Happy Thanksgiving!!🦃

  7. Remembering where you come from helps with being grateful. It puts your life in it’s proper perspective.
It’s so easy to focus on that one thing that’s not going as you like and forget everything that’s going well.
    Thanks for the reminder.

  8. A very lovely post on gratitude and the art of receiving. So glad to have you in resonance of what I am feeling the need of the times …just receiving and then soaking in with gratitude. Wish you a very Happy Thanksgving!

  9. In Scotland, we don’t celebrate thanksgiving, but I think we should.
Ironically we now have Black Friday and have always celebrated Halloween…..
In todays world, I think we should all have an ‘attitude of gratitude’.
    Happy thanksgiving!

    Dave 🙂

  10. We don’t celebrate it in Sweden but I wish all of you who do a Happy Thanksgiving! And yes we all have a lot of things to be grateful for.

  11. First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to you who celebrate it. Second, it is somehow hard to be grateful, not because it’s hard to find the reason, but it’s hard to let yourself be one. It happens to me, as if I’m trying to blind myself of any reason to be thankful for. Even for a still beating heart. He-heh. Mind-teasing post btw. ;]

  12. Lovely post. I pray this Thanksgiving Day will be better and everyone can come together in love and harmony. Last year, mines wasn’t that great but I thank God for living to see it. Enjoy your day and be bless. ❤💫
