I had a complimentary session with Debbie of Forgiving Connects a few months ago.
Debbie is a Forgiveness Coach. She has a host of wonderful online introductions & series on forgiveness on her blog.
During our session, this lovely soul gently guided me to let go of any judgments I may have had and see things from a different perspective.
As you know, I am a firm believer in the power of forgiveness; for yourself and the other person.
You might be asking yourself, “Why would I want to practice forgiveness? Heck, it’s hard already“. The answer is simple. When you know how to forgive, you eliminate excess mental and emotional weight that keeps you stuck in repetitive situations that are not healthy or productive.
Going back to the session, Debbie asked, “Who would you be if you weren’t judging?” It’s a great question, and one-step at a time, the answers came through with grace. She shared valuable tips and mantras, and my favorite was :
I forgive myself for judging myself for (you fill in the blanks).
I’m convinced that while forgiveness isn’t easy, it is the most important inner work you can do for your mind and heart. Do you agree?
Many blessings to you on your own path of forgiving. Have a peaceful week ahead.xo
I totally agree! In fact I’ve mentioned this same idea somewhere in my blog 😊
By the way, I posted something new on my blog and would love it if you could see and comment 💖💖

I agree. Forgiving is so very difficult! I also struggle with the difference between forgiving and protecting myself from more hurt from a person who is causing me pain.

I learned forgiving frees us from bitterness. Gaining trust may take time but we learn from it. 🤗 Bernice

Take it slowly and as the saying goes, it’s not how fast but how far you get.
A big hug to you.

Bernice, this is SUCH a profound blog post. You share so many gems to forgiveness, wow I am incredibly touched and inspired.
Thank you for linking to my blog and for sharing your experience in your session. This statement is so incredibly powerful:
“I forgive myself for judging myself for (you fill in the blanks).”
I am so with you that forgiveness is the most powerful work that we can do for our well-being. You really go for it and demonstrate it with your wisdom and willingness to do. I acknowledge you greatly.
Great post – and wonderful contribution for Forgiving Fridays. I’ll share it this Friday! Be well. And be in touch anytime – I hope that your program is going super.
Love and blessings,
Debbie
