“Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are” Marianne Williamson
What brings you joy? It might be something you used to have in your life that put a smile on your face such as music, scrap booking, art, dance or writing poetry. Whatever it is, just thinking about doing more of this should make your heart sing. These are the things that fully engaged you, causing you to be present in the moment, not feeling depressed about the past or anxious about the future.
It’s important to give yourself permission to take time for yourself. If you need to make a few changes in your life, that’s ok. You’re worth it. Try to make it possible for you to do something you enjoy. With these new experiences and learnings your outlook today may be better than yesterday.
With change. We learn. We grow. There is no end to it.
So tell me journeyers’ what brings you joy?
There is a girl in my neighborhood. She is two years old. She is my little friend. All my stress and sorrow wither away when she looks at me and smiles. Her smile is the real joy for me.

Every moment every act is done to derive joy in some or the other way. In the process we tend to lose the joy for what we were upon. Because we tend not to live in the present and now.
Every moment is a joy for that matter. Right now I am enjoying righting this comment.
Everyone is busy to derive the joy. It is not so easy to call some one to do your work, because they are busy enjoying doing their work. Hahaha!😂

As a teacher, watching my students enjoy learning something new brings me joy…and summer, spring, and winter vacations bring me joy as well! As a believer in Christ, knowing that Jesus loves me brings me joy. Great post!

For me joy is being creative. Being loved and accepted for who I am. Answering your question is joy (which makes me think that naming and discovering things can be joyful too) :).

I love this. I think joy doesn’t just find us. We have to choose it, regardless of our circumstance. It’s easier said than done, but you will be much happier if you try to always see the glass half full in every situation. ☀️

Thank you for a lovely, thought provoking post.
Meditation, writing, reading, knitting, playing with animals, fishing and hiking bring me joy. The latter two are somewhat difficult to do in NYC. But why haven’t I knitted for many weeks? Tomorrow, I will knit.

My mom taught me how to knit when I was young. It’s so relaxing and meditative. Thanks for sharing!

You’re very welcome! It is extremely meditative. Maybe that’s why I have a hard time slowing down enough to do it when I’m “too busy.”

Beautiful and very true. It is easy to get caught up in the demands of life and we only conquer our daily stresses by offsetting them with the things that bring us joy. I think one key element that you hit on is also to allow ourselves to do so by giving us the permission that it is ok.
Thank you for sharing, loved it.

Seeing my son sitting across from me as we were once 3,200 miles apart. A family broken, but I knew God would make it complete. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete. He used to tell people his mom died. In a sense yes, but now he is here away from his dad. He texted today sup fam? We spent a wonderful Mother’s Day together. For me in the healing and beauty that comes after the tribulations in life. Getting to see my son heal now too. Just knowing I have new life, husband, and my son here as well. My cup always runneth over….thanks for the write ❤

Evereything that keeps me in this moment, basically those things which I love to do.
As well consciousness that I am sufficient. And my surroundings are good enough as well, no matter how it actually is. With positive mindset everything is possible 🙂

Wonderful post, Bernice. What’s bringing me joy right at this moment? I’m watching my elderly cat (she’s 15) sleep … she’s so sweet, she snores loudly on the in & out breaths ☺️

This is a simple but good question.
What brings me joy is knowing that no matter what I’m going through it already alright.
The quote you added kinda goes with this idea because I can see how good life really is.
